Sunny started her Yoga journey with an Ashtanga practice as a young teenager in the Netherlands. Ever since that time Yoga has been her constant support through a continually evolving and changing life.
Having moved to the UK over twenty years ago, she became a student of Ian Davis with OrangeYoga. It was because of his teaching, his inspiration and knowledge without any kind of judgement, she found her passion for Yoga.
To deepen her personal journey, both physically and mentally, Sunny became a full time student under his guidance over the last four years. To learn more about the Yoga history, philosophy, its traditions and values on and off the mat, she did her 200hrs Training with OrangeYoga and qualified in December 2016 as an International Yoga Teacher and is a registered member with Yoga Alliance.
Currently Sunny is undertaking another 300hrs training with OrangeYoga to become an Advanced Teacher in Yoga. This time she’s deepening her Yoga expertise of the anatomy side of the physical body and deepening her knowledge of chanting and Jivamukti/Ashtanga Yoga.
In February 2018, Sunny returned to her roots of Yoga and did 25hrs intensive Ashtanga Teacher Training with Tina Pashumati James. Tina is an internationally recognised Ashtanga Teacher and an advanced certified Jivamukti Yoga Teacher. To stay true to the authentic way of Ashtanga teaching Sunny stays close to her practise with Tina.
Her focus beside her full time study is teaching Beginners, Hatha, Vinyasa and Ashtanga Classes to her students. Her teachings are very inclusive to all, from young Teens to the more advanced Yogis. Making it possible for everybody to be able join her classes and to give modifications if needed.
Her unique style includes a combination of music, chants and physical practise teaching you how to move your body in a deliberate way, to find that connection with the breath to get that balance and grounding physically, mentally and emotionally.
Her teachings are not about achieving the unreachable, it is all about what arises within you and work with what you’ve got to transform that into a practice to make Yoga achievable and enjoyable!
